Hello, friends! As I write this, it's December 30th, the day before New Year’s Eve. I like to take this time to reflect on the goals I set for the year, reviewing what I accomplished and what things I will carry over into the new year. While I don’t necessarily make resolutions every year, I enjoy setting intentions and goals. One of my favorite traditions is creating a vision board and then using it as my wallpaper and lock screens on all my devices, so I’m constantly reminded of it.
I’ve been making a vision board every year since I was 18, and a good portion of what I include on it tends to come true. Here's an example of my vision board from last year. I try to include not only my goals but also things that inspire me. If you haven't tried making a vision board before, I highly recommend it!
The highlights of 2024…
In January, I upgraded my computer set up and invested in a iMac this was something I had been wanting to do for a while and was on my vision board for the year. My laptop couldn’t handle the workload of professional illustrator life.
February was full of deadlines and receiving illustrator copies of my first picture book “From the Farm, to Our Table”
April got to see the book at my local Barnes and Noble one of the most exciting days in my career! I had also finished up illustrating 3 more books!
In May, I upgraded my iPad Pro this really was the year of getting my technology up to date for my professional life.
June I finished up my next book to be released “More Trees, Please!” one of my favorite projects I worked on this year! I also received my copy of a Taylor Swift Fanzine I was a part of!
In July the publishers weekly announcement of “The World’s Best Christmas Light” was announced. The summer was a very busy time for me!
Had a book release in August “Ready for School”
October I went to the Lightbox Expo and also finished a personal piece I am very proud of!
November I did my first school visits which was so much fun! Can’t wait to do more in the new year! (Didn’t have pictures from this without kiddos in them)
December had multiple deadlines and starting on my 10th book and it’s a dream project!!! Literally can’t believe it. Another book was released as well!
