Hello friends! I am back again to round up what has been happening the last couple months. I have a few things to show you that I am very excited about!
Let’s start with a cover reveal! I'm so excited to share the cover for the early reader, "More Trees, Please!" It was an honor to illustrate this book for Penguin Random House, written by the awesome Alastair Heim. You follow a little girl as she shares the many wonderful things about trees and why we need more! I had so much fun illustrating this book and can now say I'm way more confident in drawing trees.
Another book I illustrated came out at the end of August! "Ready for School" by Dona Herweck Rice is about a girl who is eager to go to school but is forgetting something. I only worked on this one at the beginning of this year, so it was exciting to see the finished product so fast. Here are a few of my favorite illustrations from the book!

The final book news for now… is a book announcement from the Publishers Marketplace!
I am so excited to be working on my first Christmas book! It’s been very interesting working on a Christmas book with 105+ temps outside this summer.
Now that I have shared my recent book news, I can share my personal passion project that I have been chipping away at during my downtime. I have shared a little on my Patreon but mostly on my Instagram stories. (Side note: I did start a Patreon, but with how busy I have been with deadlines, I haven’t been updating as much as I would like to. I’ll leave a link anyway; it’s all free for you to enjoy!) I have had this idea in my head for so long and for the longest time had no idea how to go about it. I decided to pick some major landmarks in California break them up into columns and have them blend together to make a cohesive image, starting in Northern California down to the Southern California coast. Starting with the Redwood Forest and Monterey Bay Area, then heading to Mount Shasta, Yosemite, Mojave Desert, and finally the Southern California Coast. I have finished the backgrounds and am working on adding all the animals. I plan on doing a big deep dive into how I went about working on this when it’s finished! Hopefully, by the next time we catch up, it’ll be done!

That’s all for now! Here are a few new places to follow me since the last time we spoke!
Congrats on all of your projects, Amanda! 🎉😀
